  • Services Offered: The Office of French Language Services (OFS) is responsible for increasing the capacity of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to deliver French language services and to contribute to the development and vitality of the Francophone community of the province.    In addition to acting as a resource for ministries, the BSF is the point of service to the Francophone community programs and government services, and helps departments to serve their Francophone clients in French.

  • Port au Port Outreach Site - Centre Scolaire et Communautaire Ste. Anne
    The Port au Port Outreach service desk in Port au Port is currently open one day a week and provides services in English and French. Services include assistance in completing applications for employment insurance benefits, Canada Pension Plan Retirement Pension and Old Age Security, Social Insurance Number Application; applications for the Apprenticeship Grant, and information about the Canada Education Savings Grant, Job Bank and Labour Market Information are among the services provided.

  • Bilingual Mobile Outreach Services from Service Canada
  • The mobile services program of Service Canada was established as part of measures taken by Service Canada following the implementation of the Economic Action Plan. Specialize services to citizens are temporarily available to provide information on services offered by Service Canada to government officials, organizations and the general public, or on services tailored to specific client groups such as seniors, youth , employers and the disabled, among others. This information is provided as part of organized sessions, lectures and community activities, or in the information booths installed in various places. Services are offered in English and French.

The Canada Business Network  / Newfoundland and Labrador is the result of a partnership of providers of business services that provide timely information and relevant services across the province to meet the needs of your business.

The Canada Business Network / Newfoundland and Labrabor, was created October 29, 1999, in a joint initiative of federal and provincial governments.The managing partners of this initiative are the Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) for the Government of Canada .

The main objectives of the Canada Business Network are:

  • promote economic development by increasing the ease and speed of access to business information, programs and services for citizens throughout the territory of Newfoundland and Labrador;
  • consolidate, where possible, the various government and community agencies to provide public access to business services from one place .

Language: We try to provide service in French as much as possible and have French speaking staff available in most cases. Also a wide selection of our information is available in French and some library resources.
