St. John’s Parents’ Committee

 

The St. John’s parents’ committee is building a strong relationship between school and the Francophone community.

The committee is autonomous but is also affiliated with the Fédération des parents francophones de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador (FPFTNL).

Missions

  • To bring parents together
  • To act as an official representative for parents
  • To represent parents’ viewpoints
  • To develop a position on specific issues
  • To serve on the FPFTNL provincial parents’ council

Activities

  • Connect parents and any other interested persons
  • Acquire and communicate information: speakers and workshops
  • Discuss common problems and key actions
  • Raise public awareness and communicate targeted messages
  • Undertake projects and initiatives

Among these activities, the St. John’s parents’ committee is notably responsible for two key areas:
